Conference/ Workshop during September 2011 and August 2012:

Foundation Day Programme: On 4th September workshop on media and mental health was organized at RINPAS in which persons from media participated actively.

International Conference on Transcultural Psychiatry during Sep’24-25, 2011::

The conference was organized by RINPAS in collaboration with the EPS Global Medical Development Incorporation, Montreal, Canada. Academic Programmes consisted of Guest lectures, Seminar and free papers. Delegates from Italy, Croatia, Japan, Australia, Hungary etc. participated in the conference.

Psychiatric Orientation to Medical Officers during 17-10-11 & 22-10-11:

This orientation programme was organized for Medical Officers of various districts of Jharkhand.

Workshop on Behavioural Problems among school-going Children on 23-3-12 & 24-3-12:

This workshop was organized by RINPAS for school teachers to sensitize them for identification of behavioural problems and its classroom management. Teachers actively participated in the programme. Faculty members participated as resource persons.

Continuing Clinical Psychology Education Programme “Workshop on Recent Advances in Psychotherapy” on 01-08-12:

This programme was organized by the Department of Clinical Psychology, RINPAS in collaboration with the Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists. Prof. Manju Mehta, Professor of Clinical Psychology, Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS, New Delhi and President IACP talked about psychological management of pain. Dr. Ashima Nehra, Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology, AIIMS, New Delhi and EC member of IACP deliverd a talk about the psychological management of neurological problems. One hundred thirty delegates participated in the programme.

Executive Council Meeting of IACP:

The Executive Council meeting of the Indian Association of Clinical Psychologists was held on 01-08-12.

Eye donation and awareness programme:

The programme was organized on 27-8-2012 under eye donation fortnight celebration.

Helpline (Umang)

A helpline is started in collaboration with Dept. of Social Justice, Women and Child Welfare, Govt. of Jharkhand to extend services particularly for adolescent girls (Funded by Dept. of Social Justice, Women and Child Welfare, Govt. of Jharkhand).

Legal Help Cell

Legal Help Cell at OPD was started on 10-10-2012.

Symposium on “substance use in women” on 87th Foundation Day of RINPAS (04-09-12)

Dr. CRJ Khess, Professor of Psychiatry, Central Institute of Psychiatry and Dr. Jayati Simlai, Associate Professor and Head, Dept. of Psychiatry, Dr. Masroor Jahan, Additional Professor, Dept. of Clinical Psychology, and Dr. Manisha Kiran, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Psychiatric

Social Work delivered talk on psychiatric, psychological and psychosocial aspects of substance use respectively. Faculty members, officers and students participated in the symposium.

Workshop on Overcoming Stigma attached to Mental Illness on  30-9-2012

The workshop was organized by Dept. of Psychiatric Social Work, RINPAS, Dr. Murlidhar, ,Professor, Dept. of Psychiatric Social Work, NIMHANS and Dr. Arvind E. Raj, Assistant Professor, Manipal conducted the workshop.

World Mental Health Day Programme
Caregivers were informed about mental illness (schizophrenia and bipolar affective disorder). Nature course and outcome of illness was told with special emphasis on treatment adherence.

Workshop on ‘Recent Advances in Cognitive Neurosciences’ on 05-02-12:
Mr. Robin Davies, Dr. Marteen, Dr. Jayati Simlai and Dr. Nishant Goyal delivered talk Dr. Marteen conducted live session of Magnetic Stimulator. Faculty members, officers and students participated in the symposium.

Special Clinic
Child and adolescent guidance clinic and marital and family counseling clinic have been started.
